Greyhound Rescue: adopt-a-greyhound
It's a very private mission of myself: helping retired racing greyhounds!
I'm supporting Joey's Greyhoundfriends of Ohio, a
non-profit group placing retired
racing greyhounds into adoption in the Cincinnati area, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Indiana.
At any given time they have greyhounds available for adoption with a
variety of temperaments, sizes, and colors from which to choose.
The racers usually reside in foster homes, where
they have an opportunity to be shown at meet-n-greets, which are announced at the Website of Joey's Greyhoundfriends of Ohio.
They are also looking for foster homes. Please, check out the website.
Greyhounds are wonderful and lovely. Believe me, I know what I'm writing about: in Germany we had a wonderful retired
Greyhound-Lady for more than 6 years (please see the picture on the right). She came to us at
the age of 4½ and we had a great time with her - she was a wonderful dog and a family
member.
In June 2010 we adopted Artist (see photo on the left) or better: Artist adopted us. He's a really friendly guy, loves to play
with his stuffed animals and he especially loves to steal shoes (he doesn't brake them - he just steals them, one
after the other...).
If you ever had a greyhound as a pet you're really missing something if you're without one. We haven't had a Grey from
April 2004 until June 2010 and it's really a greyt blessing to have such a wonderful dog in the house again.
Retired Greyhound make greyt pets!
