It's a very private mission of myself: helping retired racing greyhounds!
I'm supporting Team Greyhound Adoption of Ohio, Inc., a non-profit group placing retired
racing greyhounds into adoption in most of Ohio and parts of adjacent states.
Since 1999, they have placed over 1200 retired racers into adoptive homes and at any
given time they have between 40 and 60 greyhounds available for adoption allowing a
variety of temperaments, sizes, and colors from which to choose. Team Greyhound Adoption
of Ohio, Inc. founded the first retired racing greyhound training prison program in Ohio.
The racers that they place are trained in Ohio prisons for a minimum of three months
prior to adoption. This training ensures a secure match with the adoptive families
through their training in socialization, basic obedience, and house manners.
The racers reside in foster homes after graduation from their training program, where
they have an opportunity to be shown at meet-n-greets in the Team Greyhound-branches
throughout Ohio.
Here you'll get more information about Team Greyhound Adoption of Ohio, Inc.

Joey's Greyhound Friends of Ohio, another organization that rescues retired racers and
is looking for loving and responsible homes for this wonderful dogs (and this dogs are
wonderful and lovely. Believe me, I know what I'm writing about). They are also looking for
foster homes. Please, check out the website.
BTW: in Germany we had a wonderful retired Greyhound-Lady for more than 6 years (please see
the picture). She came to us at
the age of 4½ and we had a great time with her - she was a wonderful dog and a family
member.
My family also supports the Darke County Animal Shelter. If
you are a resident in this area, please visit this website - you might find a new friend
there ... Thank you!
